Two days ago windows team blog announced that Windows Thin PC is available for download for Software Assurance customers from the Microsoft Volume Licensing Site. A thin PC is a computer which heavily depends on other computer, normally a server to complete a task. According to Microsoft Windows Thin PC will be locked down version of Windows 7. Microsoft claims that this will provide organizations significant benefits such as  reduced end point cost for VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure). Windows Thin PC allows organizations to re-purpose existing PCs as thin clients which will avoid the requirement of additional hardware.

• Security
• Media players

But  Microsoft reveals that it cannot run productivity applications such as Microsoft Office.
