Windows 8 Comes With SoC Architecture

by Unknown

At the D9 conference last week Microsoft's executives confirmed that next generation of Windows code named "Windows 8" will run on System on Chip architecture. SoC architecture means integrating all the components in to a single electronic chip .Thats is it run just like embeded microcontrollers .But apart from micro controllers, which is very primitive when compared to a personal computer, SoC has enough requirements for running Windows and Linux.
As some manufactures like AMD and ARM already developed SoC systems and the development in this area is going high,Microsoft's move will give a new pace in both hardware and software fields. AMDs Geode is a x86 supporting system on chip which is primitively developed by National Semiconductors.ARM is also in the right direction in the development of SoCs.
